The gray, dead trees on this bluff in Colorado Bend State Park really exemplify the affect the multi-year drought has had on the Texas Hill Country. Before the recent rains, this part of the river had very little water in it from some one of the photos I saw on the state park website.
The Texas Hill Country is full of cedar trees which are evergreen. But among the cedars you will find bits of color as fall arrives in the hill country. Captured this shot at one of my favorite local hikes, Doeskin Ranch, which is part of the Balcones Canyonlands NWR.
