Dreaming of summer and waiting for swimmers to return and swing from this rope next year. I made this shot while walking up and down the Frio River in Garner State Park checking out the fall colors. Looking at this photo reminds me of my youth and how I'd love to spend a hot summer day. Oh how I would love to swing from this rope on a warmer day.
You can tell the effect the drought has had on this once popular swimming hole. The line around the tree at the bottom of the ladder marks where the water level would be in wetter times. Hopefully the water level will return someday, but in the meantime, diving from the ladder would really be a risk.
Took a trip to Colorado Bend State Park on Sunday. First time there in many years. Caught this shot as we were leaving the park and it's one of my favorites from the outing. The clouds were beginning to break up after being socked in all day. Made for a great last minute capture to end the day.
