I shot this just over a year ago, but Lake Travis in the Texas Hill Country still looks like this today. You can see Mansfield Dam, that forms the lake, in the distance. When the lake is full, this is completely underwater, but sometimes peninsula (as this strip of land as come to be known) has not seen water over it in several years. Although it's 'neat' to be able to walk to the middle of the lake, I'll be glad when this spot is once again under water.
Waiting for the bats to make their nightly appearance at Devil's Sinkhole State Natural Area. Unfortuneately, on this night the bats weren't on our time schedule. Some were coming out before dark, but there was never a mass ascension.
I pulled this shot out of the archives as I was doing a little house cleaning on my website. I took this several years ago along Cypress Creek at Twin Creeks Park in Cedar Park. When I found it I realized it was one that I had overlooked. It's all the perspective in this shot, but it gives the feeling that these falls are a LOT bigger than they are. With all the recent rain I imagine the creek is flowing nicely and these falls are probably in fine form. May need to take a little trip down there to check it out.
