Digging into the archives for this shot. One of my favs from a bicycle tour I took in 2005 with Cycle America. A small group of us had met up with members of the Cascade Bicycle Club at a bakery in Gold Bar, WA on Hwy 2. The club members asked where we were headed and when we told them they suggested an alternate route from that provided us by Cycle America. They indicated it was a regular club ride and would take us off of Hwy 2 onto much less traveled back roads. Boy, were they right. After being told what street signs to watch for to make our turns, we were off. Our side adventure took us past wild blackberry bushes where we picked and ate to our hearts content. We ended up in Mt. Index where I grabbed this shot of one of the women riders looking at her map trying to determine how we were supposed to return to Hwy 2 and on to our overnight stay in Skyhomish, WA. I've always heard the Cascade Range is the Alps of America and this scene definitely had me believing it.
