Steamworks Brew

Something a little different for me. I made this shot at the first place we ate at when we arrived in Vancouver in May. If you find yourself in downtown Vancouver and you like beer, I recommend giving this place a try. I really liked the reflection of the building behind me in this window. Really helped make the shot with the brewery's logo in the glass.

Golden English

Low tide on English Bay in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I captured this shot at Stanley Bay with a 3 exposure capture. I was hoping for a little better sunset, but the low hanging clouds would have no part of that, but having the sun in the distance did add some nice drama to the shot.

Gold Diggers

Inside the Brittania Mine on the Sea-to-Sky Highway in British Columbia, Canada. We stopped by this mine for a tour on our way to Whistler. Cool tour with lots of historical info. For more information about the mine, check out their website at http://www.britanniaminemuseum.ca/index.html.

Shannon Falls

It was a misty morning when we visited Shannon Falls in British Columbia, Canada in May. Trying to keep my lense free of spots was a challenge, but I managed to do a pretty good job of it in this shot. Being from Texas, the land of little water, seeing waterfalls like this is amazing to me. I have seen other shots of these falls from different vantage points in nicer weather and would love the opportunity to go back one day to shoot these falls again.

Shannon Showers

I had some assistance from my #1 assistant (aka my wife and photographic consultant) to capture this shot of me at Shannon Falls in British Columbia, Canada. I found it a lot easier to ask her to click the button on the remote after I was in position, than setting the timer and running into position. Sea to Sky

One of the scenic overlooks on the Sea to Sky Highway in British Columbia, Canada. This is an incredibly beautiful highway and worth the drive if you ever have an extra day in Vancouver and would like to see some of the incredible Canadian landscape.

Blue Hour

I teased you with this scene shot with my iPhone a couple of weeks ago, but here's the shot I got with my DSLR at Porteau Cove Provincial Park (http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/porteau/) in British Columbia, Canada. Beautiful spot to watch the day come to a close.

Monochrome Blues

Using this shot I made in Porteau Cove in British Columbia, Canada for two different photo contest this week. One theme was for photos taken at dusk, the other for monochrome photos that were not black and white. Thought this shot fit the bill well for both. :-)

Lion Sunset

Sunset on Lion's Gate Bridge from Stanley Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Digging through the archives and found this shot from our Alaskan Cruise vacation last year that I had not previously processed. i caught the last hint of sunlight as I made this shot. I purposely left in the tail lights from the vehicles traveling on the road that circumnavigates Stanley Park on the left side of the shot to add to the dimension of the view. I'd love the chance to see this view again.

Lions Gate

One of the shots I wanted to make while we were in Vancouver was a night image of the Lions Gate Bridge. I had seen plenty of other shots of it online, but really wanted to capture it myself. It's a stunning piece of architecture and I was lucky enough to have a great sky as a backdop for the shot.

Watching a Harbour Air flight arrive through the entrance to the Stanley Park Totem Poles. Caught another photographer getting her shot, but I think I had the better angle. :-)

Framing Lion's

My wife gave me the idea for this shot I made of Lion's Gate Bridge in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on our Alaskan cruise vacation last year. A bridge over a bridge, sort of. This tree provided a nice wooden frame for the shot on this steely gray day.

Leaving Vancouver

A different look at the Vancouver skyline, this time as our cruise ship was departing and sailing into English Bay. So I wonder if anyone knows the story with all the cargo ships. Are they waiting to pick cargo up or drop it off. The 2 in the foreground appear to be riding high in the water, so I'm guessing they are waiting for cargo. But really, I have no clue. Anyone else know what the story is behind the cargo ships in English Bay?
