One of the many water falls currently flowing along the hike in River Place. Definitely one of my favorite places to go hike and one of the places you can feel like you're in the middel of the country when you are actually in the midst of a couple of very large developments. With the recent rains the water is flowing great and the hike offers many opportunities to stop along the trail and take in the sights and sounds of running water. Great for a Day One hike in a few days if you're in Austin and don't want to travel far. Photo by Steve Coyle Photography (www.stevecoylephotography.com)
On the trail in River Place in Austin, Texas. During wet seasons like we're having now, this is a great place to stop along a hike and listen to the water falling into the pool below. I love the way the roots of this tree make their way down the rock face looking for dirt to anchor into. So if you're looking for a nice place to go for a weekend hike around the Austin area, this place is definitely on my list of recommendations. Thought I was going to post this on the first to ring in April, but it didn't happen, so the 2nd will have to do. Another shot from my trip to our friends ranch near D'Hanis, Texas in March. Any of you going out bluebonnet hunting this weekend? Photo by Steve Coyle Photography (www.stevecoylephotography.com)
