My friend Gilbert Martinez reminded me of this image last night when he shared a contest Big Bend National Park is having that they want particular photos in specific spots at specific times. I just happen to have one of the scenes they are looking for that I'll be submitting. I'm sure they'll receive plenty of other entries from this location, but this is what I have to offer up.
Having fun with a little light painting in the Chisos Basin of Big Bend National Park. The sign you see is the one at the exit from the campground in the basin. There are no lights to light it up and there was no moon to aid in providing a little light, so I used my headlamp for about a second or two to illumimate the sign just enough. On nights like this one it almost needs another sign staing 'Milky Way' with an arrow pointed straight up. :-) Photo by Steve Coyle Photography (www.stevecoylephotography.com)
