Cycling Sunrise

Decided to play with this image. Took it with my iPhone at RAGBRAI in 2011. We were heading out early in the morning with a lot of humidity in the air. You could cut it with a knife. Made photography a bit challenging, especially with only an iPhone at hand. However, we got to a turn and the riders ahead made for a nice image against the rising sun.

Granger Sunset

Granger Lake is a United States Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the San Gabriel River in central Texas in the United States. The lake is located near the towns of Granger, Texas and Taylor, Texas in Williamson County. The dam, lake, and all adjacent property are managed by the Fort Worth District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The reservoir was officially impounded in 1980, and serves to provide flood control for the communities downstream. Granger Lake is a popular recreational destination. - wikipedia

One of the more dramatic sunsets I've ever seen. The storm was clearing just as the sun was setting. Made for a very dramatic sunset.

The sky exploded in color as the storm clouds cleared. Luckily Pride called me as she left the office to tell me to get outside quick and look at the sky. It was an incredible show!

Parched Earth

I tried to capture the cracks in the earth on this school playground, but without pointing my camera straight down at the cracks it wasn't very easy. However a photo of cracks in the ground wouldn't be very interesting. I thought the thunderstorms in this shot provided a nice backdrop for the parched earth, but as usual, they did not bring much relief.
