Veteran's Day
Happy Veteran's Day to all of my family, friends and followers who have served and protected us for the freedom we enjoy every day. I had gone to the Cedar Park Veteran's Day Parade on Saturday and had arrived a little early to look around the park for ideas for a portrait shoot I was doing the next morning. As I walked around the park with our friend Laura we found Dr. Mo of Cedar Park's Chirofit Wellness Center waiting at the park's monument. He asked if I was the photographer from the paper. He was waiting for a veteran to arrive to present him with one of the bricks that is laid in the walkways around the memorial. I told him I was not with the paper, but would be happy to take their photo when the vet arrived. Shortly after that Dorian Cooper and his family (his wife Lisa and their daughters Dora Anne and Jasmine) came walking up. Lisa had only told Dorian that they needed to go to the monument but Dorian told her that wasn't where the parade was. Little did he know what she had in store for him. Dr. Mo and Chirofit have been presenting bricks to veterans of employees and patients for several years. This year Dorian's was one of three they were presenting for Veteran's Day. It was great to be there and share the special occasion with Dorian and his family. Thanks Dr. Mo for supporting our troops and thanks goes out to all the vets who have given so much.
