Happy 4th of July from Cedar Park, Texas. Hope you're having a great day, whether celebrating freedom in the US or just glad it's a Friday in other parts of the world. Personally I'm looking forward to seeing a parade this morning and some fireworks tonight. How about you?

You know when someone tells you that you will want to 'watch this' it's usually advisable to keep a safe distance. This 'watch this' moment was at today's Fourth of July parade in Cedar Park. Hope your Fourth is filled with excitement too!

Blues on the Green

The party that is Blues on the Green with an ever changing Austin, Texas skyline in the background. I have been going to BOTG since it was held in the Arboretum and was a much more intimate venue. The free summer concert series moved to Zilker Park many years ago, first to Rock Island and then to it's present location with the city skyline as a backdrop. The crowds have grown much larger and parking is pretty much a joke (took us an hour to get out of the parking lot), but still they come. If you enjoy music and don't mind the crowds, this concert series put on by Austin's KGSR 93.3 is definitely something to check out.

Balloon Lift

The balloons are getting ready to take flight at this mornings hot air balloon launch on Lake Travis. Went out early this morning to get a little experience shooting hot air balloons before I go to Albuquerque in October for their Balloon Fiesta.

Balloon Sunrise

Good Sunday morning to you! Another shot of the hot air balloon launch yesterday at Mansfield Dam. The clear skies and light winds made for a nice launch. Lots of spectators. It had been years since I last saw a balloon launch in Plano, Texas, so I was pretty excited to have another chance to see one and so close to home. The next one I'll take in won't be nearly as close unfortunately.

Defy Gravity

The first morning of the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico last Saturday. The Wicked hot air balloon was leading the ascension that morning. It's a sight to see if you are ever able to make it to New Mexico for the fiesta.
